DAVID CASTILLO is a New Orleans-native performing artist who delivers "impassioned," (LA Times) "beautifully sung and confidently acted" (Opera News) performances in the US and Europe. He performed as a soloist with the LA Philharmonic, the New Orleans Opera, the LA Opera, the LA Master Chorale, The Industry, the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, Le Salon de Musiques, the Horizon Music Group, and Off-Broadway. He has collaborated with Conductors Grant Gershon, Christopher Rountree, Josep Caballé-Domenech, Reimbert de Leeus, Douglas Kinney Frost, and Brent McMunn and Directors Yuval Sharon, James Darrah, Ken Cazan, Ed Berkeley, Melissa Crespo and Brad Dalton. He launched world premieres with Composers Louis Andriessen, Andrew McIntosh, Shawn Kirchner, Jeffrey Parola, Logan Skelton, Rand Steiger, and David Rosenboom. He made his European Debut at La Mairie du 3e arrondissement de Paris with pianist Francois Chouchan performing Schubert's Winterreise, a work they previously performed in Los Angeles and New Orleans. His 16/17 season includes his debut with The Cleveland Orchestra in Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande with Maestro Franz Welser-Möst and Director Yuval Sharon. He returns to the LA Philharmonic in NIMBUS and to cover Soloist/Actor in Night and Dreams: A Schubert/Beckett Recital, to The Industry for the world premiere of Bonnie and Clyde and Little Bear, to Off-Broadway to reprise the role of Atzuko and to cover Figaro in ¡Figaro! (90210), to Le Salon de Musiques to perform Mahler’s Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen, and to Loyola New Orleans in Skelton’s Letters to Santa.
